It is nice to know what to expect from someone. Let me lay out for you what you can expect from me as your real estate agent.
Meeting deadlines and handling your questions in a timely manner is important to me. I make every effort to always answer my phone unless with a client, return phone calls promptly and answer emails and texts at the first opportunity. Sometimes I hear from clients about experiences they had in the past where there were lags in communication with an agent. So I know it is important. This is a big deal! I just do what I would want from a broker – a prompt and professional response from someone who understood my needs and goals.
With a background in home construction and a BS in Business Administration from Oregon State University, I understand how listening is the foundation to getting a client set up correctly from the beginning. If you tell me you want a Victorian home, I will not email or show you Craftsman style homes simply because I think I know better than you what you want. I am here to guide, offer suggestions and expertise, but first of all to listen, find out what you are all about.
Maybe you are relocating and want information on the local schools. Or it could be that you are downsizing and overwhelmed by the prospect of organizing and moving your belongings. This may be your first experience buying a home, and you just want someone competent and friendly to walk you through the process.
Listening is a crucial part of excellent communication, yet how many true listeners do you meet in a day? Listening is a client care skill which I know I do well. Because I really am curious about you, my goal will be to understand your housing and lifestyle preferences. You will find that I take the time to understand so that I can best help. Also, your style of communication is my style of communication.
If you prefer email, great. If texting is better for you we can make that work for most of a transaction. The bottom line is that this is about you, your big life decision, your needs and your way of communicating. I am here to offer excellent customer service and meet you right where you are. How does that sound?
Here are a few more tidbits about me that are relevant to you getting good customer service. (1) Having been trained as a real estate appraiser, my ability to price homes accurately is a bonus to my clients. (2) Real estate investment is an area of special expertise; in fact I started Schmidt & Patrick LLC, a real estate investment company. In aligning with RE/MAX, my clients get the best web and TV advertising in the industry. (3)Having grown up here, I am very familiar with the area and well prepared to introduce you to Albany and surrounding areas if you are considering relocation.
